Excellent piece. FDR talked a big game about democracy but did nothing to help us Finns, as you pointed out. Without German weapons, Finland would've been enslaved as well.
BTW, the Winter War is one of my favorite chapters of WWII…except for how it ended. I don’t know how anybody can read about what your forbears accomplished and not be inspired.
