In addition to coloring and lettering, I’m also cutting out panels and formatting to share in a vertical scroll.
Initially I only did flat coloring, not trusting myself to shade. Then I went back to the first page and began attempting to shade. I’m not a pro, and probably never will be, but I am improving.
I’m currently cutting out the last couple panels from Page 29. When I saw this one, I thought, “Hey, that looks pretty good.” I didn’t ask my illustrator for photorealism, and I’m not going for photorealistic coloring/shading. But I didn’t do half bad here IMO. Nighttime scenes with different pools of light are a challenge, too.
